Amendments are very important in the lives of all Americans. They explain all the rights, laws, and guidelines that we as American citizens must follow in this wonderful country. Five of the biggest amendments in my opinion are the first, the fourteenth, the fourth, the thirteenth, and the fifteenth.

The first amendment is probably the most known and also the most important of all the twenty seven amendments in the Constitution. It states that all American citizens have freedom of speech, religion, press, assembly, and petition. It gives all Americans freedom to express themselves through basic rights that everyone should have. This, for me, means that I can protest anything anyone does by starting a petition, I have the right to practice my own religion, and I can express myself by speech in any way that I want. Without this amendment, I think the United States would not be as free as it is.
