Allagory of the Cave

After reading Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, I think that the allegory teaches us that a well-educated population is essential to a successful community. Before the people in the cave know about the outside world, they are convinced that the shadows that they see and the sounds that they hear are a reality. However, once the people were brought outside the cave and educated on reality as based on facts, they will become a much more productive member of the community. The same can be said for uneducated members of a community. For example, people who do not have a quality education can be compared to the people who are stuck in the cave. While they think they know the truth, they only know what they have seen and heard so far. Once they begin their education, they become a more essential member of the community. They can now help to educate others in the community. Education plays an important role in making our life more enjoyable.
