All Quite on the Western Front Theme

All Quiet on the Western Front, written by Erich Remarque shows the readers themes throughout the novel. There are a few major themes but one that is shown consistently is the spirit of the army. There were mixed emotions shown by the soldiers.
The soldiers have to go through a lot during the 10 weeks of recruit training with Corporal Himmelstoss.
