All in tne aroma

We all take our noses for granted. Compared to our senses of sight, hearing, touch, and taste, we tend to give the value of our sense of smell less significance.

Smell plays an immensely important part in everyday life. Think about a time when a familiar smell wafts into your nose. All of a sudden, your memory cells are activated and put on high alert, as you search frantically for when and where you smelt that particular scent before. Once your mind identifies the memory and its association, you will automatically feel as though you have been transported back in time.

I have always loved the smell of freshly cut grass. Not because I am a gardening expert, but because it brings back memories. While growing up in England, I remember, nearly everyone was fed up with the dreary, grey days of winter that brought along endless rainy spells.
