People often hear the word “drug,” and generally think of an illegal substance such as cocaine, heroin, marijuana, or any other drug that can be found on the street. The majority of people never consider the fact that consuming alcohol can be just as harmful as illegal drugs, not only to the body, but on the mind and spirit as well. If constantly abused, alcohol can be even worse for one than taking illegal drugs. There is a problem with college students and alcohol abuse around everywhere. The immediate cause of student’s actions to drink was their need to rebel against the overly traditional American society. This rebellion led to a since of freedom for the young adults, which caused them to continue acting in these broad manners. Irresponsible drinking can destroy a person’s life as well as the lives of those around them.
