Airport Security Case Study
Airport security is an issue on everyone’s mind these days. The question of keeping our air travelers safe is a disheartening one when we learn that most, if not all, of our security measures have weak areas. One discussion worthy problem with airport security is that the transportation security agency doesn’t adequately train screeners or keep track of how well they are performing. “We have a huge army (of screeners) that’s not working well.” Rep. John Mica, chairman of a House aviation panel. This is true because the Transportation Security Administration has not stopped the flow of lethal weapons through the checkpoints at the airport with the deployment of 50,000 government-paid screeners nation wide. Security at the airport is still a problem after the September 11th attacks and after security has been tightened at all airports throughout the nation (Hall 2003).
