Affirmative action

AFFIRMATIVE ACTION


Affirmative action was born in the civil rights movement three decades ago, it calls for women, Asian, European, Latin American and black people to be given a special consideration in employment, education and contracting decisions. Affirmative action is the United States attempt to erase that long history of racial and sexual discrimination.

The battle against the racism and the discrimination in the United States was fought and won, finally the rights had become that same for all razes, the spaces between razes have disappeared and the opportunities in work and in education have become the same for everyone. Affirmative action is giving the opportunity to have an education and a work to those who have low resources but that are capable and want to progress in their lives. Although the Affirmative action defenders say that the field isn’t level yet but that giving opportunities to those that didn’t have them is just fear to cure years of racism.
