Affirmative action

Affirmative action is defined as a law or policy to even out the statistics in employment. For instance, a hiring manager may higher an African American over a Caucasian, although the office is predominantly Caucasian. He would hire the African American because if anyone were to accuse the hiring manager of being racially discriminate in the hiring process, he has that one African American to defend his case. Affirmative action would demand the hiring manager to hire the minority so that “everyone gets a chance.”
African Americans and minorities argue that they do not want to be hired because of their race. They want to be hired for their experience, skill, and hard work. Although affirmative action is utilized to answer against racism, it is still another form of racism. To hire someone because of their race is the same as not hiring them because of their race.
