affirmative action

The question of whether affirmative action is the best policy to help overcome inequalities in America is a question that continues to be asked day after day. Supporters of affirmative action say that blacks deserve compensation for past treatment. Opponents of affirmative action argue that by thinking that past suffrage can be “repaid” is only prolonging the suffering. After reviewing both sides of the argument on affirmative action, the only thought that remains is that affirmative action is not doing all that it could be doing.
