Advertising

Different language and visual techniques are used for advertising. After this advertising assignment I found that when used to their full potential they can achieve things such as: persuading and changing opinions. They can also achieve simple things such as defining an audience and informing. My hypothesis was, Advertisements for cars use common language techniques. My investigation was to see if there were in fact common language techniques in the advertising of cars. My selection of advertisements for various car dealerships all came from Newspapers. The Land Rover Advertisement came from the New Zealand Herald. The Coombes Johnston BMW advertisement came from the Bay of Plenty Time out Newspaper. The Metro Motors advertisement came from the Bay Sunday News and the remaining advertisements came from the Bay of Plenty Times.
