Uses:
• Schools (placement learning abilities) Elementary and Secondary
• College and professional Schools Military and Business
• Social Behavior Science (Research)

Common Characteristics:
• Can administer to large groups
• Content similar among the test
• Fixed time limit
• Usually yield a total score and some yield sub scores
• Very large norm group
• Purpose is for prediction

School Testing Programs:
• Ex. OLSAT
• These are usually multi-level and can be used for different ages or grades

College Administration Test:
• ACT & SAT
• SAT: Cluster of many test
• SAT I: Measures verbal and mathematics
• SAT II: Specific to certain subject areas (fewer take it)
• College Board oversees SAT. (College Board involves 3000 colleges in US)
• ETS (Education Testing Service) Develops SAT for College Board.
