Across Five Aprils (half of the book)

Chapter 1. The year is mid-April 1861. Jethro and Ellen Creighton (Jethro’s mom) are outside planting potatoes. Later in the chapter it tells about the family of Jethro’s.. The whole family is worried about the civil war that might happen.
Chapter 2 starts off with some family relatives stop by to have dinner with them. The Conversation quickly turns from a nice Hi to things about war and other things associated with that. Ellen Creighton had enough and told them to talk about something else besides the war and states succeeding. Also the next day, the...
