Sociological perspectives vary in amongst individuals, cultures, political parties and countries. Peter Berger characterizes sociological perspectives as seeing the general in the particular. In other words, finding general patterns in the behavior of a particular group of individuals. Using the sociological perspective also helps us to see the strange in the familiar. That is, learning to recognize that human behavior is not just about individual choice, but that human behavior is also influenced and shaped by our society. And lastly, but most importantly according to Berger is that using the sociological perspective allows us to see individuality within social context.
