Client’s Details

The client is a Head-teacher named Mrs B. Smith. She is the head teacher of a large, inner-city comprehensive with a school roll of 1700 pupils. Mrs B. Smith is looking to purchase a computer system for the school’s main activities with a budget of £2000. There is an additional £300 per year to cover running costs e.g. ink, paper.


Nature of the Problem

A suitable computer system must be found for a high school with a budget of £2000. The computer system must be enabled to:

· Support graphical capability to design and print certificates
· Clear and re-enter a merit list and details of 1105 pupils per term
· Automatically update certificate details applying 1 or 2 simple operations
· Allow the centre logo to be entered on each certificate
· Be learned easily and quickly with no more than 2 days training – user friendly
