A true hero is one who is willing to commit body and soul to achieve a dream. How does Andrew Nicciols' Gattaca show this throught his characters.

A hero, above all must have qualities in which he is admired for his brave deeds in which he performs to realize a goal. These brave deeds are ones in which give someone the ability to endure pain and danger. Jerome and Eugene, in Andrew Niccols’ Gattaca, both possess qualities in which make them a hero because they are prepared to endure pain and jeopardy to achieve their dream. Both ultimately give up their own life to achieve a dream. This for Jerome was his life ambition while for Eugene this dream wasn’t one he had had all his life it become one after certain circumstances. Eugene is a hero because he gave away his DNA and his own body materials, such as hair, blood and urine, to help Jerome achieve his life objective. Jerome throughout Gattaca did many things, like leaving his family and friends, which seem selfish and unjustified but are all part of the torture endured to become and hero while achieving a dream.
