A River Runs Through It is a beautifully written novel by author Norman Maclean. The novel is fiction that is based on an account of events that occurred in the author’s life that focus on his love for fly fishing and the experiences that are related with it. The novel also focused on the experiences and love that he had for his family. A River Runs Through It depicts the art of fly fishing in the most awesome and spiritual aspects that have a way of drawing people closer to nature. Not only did fly fishing bring the main characters of the novel, brothers Paul and Norman, closer to nature, but it had a great impact in defining their relationship. This relationship that is presented in this novel are very profound in their connection with nature, especially the waters in which they fished. There were many examples of family love between the brothers through their evolving relationship that connected them by their experiences with fly fishing in the rivers of Montana.
