A Matter of Greed

In a world of constant competition, greed and selfishness take control while people strive to fulfill the American dream. Nine digit salaries, company cars, bonuses, million dollar homes, the newest wardrobe, and job titles define this dream. Hate is sometimes discussed when referring to men as Bill Gates and Ted Turner, but hate is much too strong of a word to describe the feelings displayed towards these men. Hate is not what makes one wish they discovered Microsoft or owned the Atlanta Braves. Hate is the emotions endured when terrorists attack your homeland destroying the lives of many innocent people. Envy is felt when thinking of men as Bill Gates and Ted Turner who seem to be living the American dream.
While becoming envious of those who display the American dream, America is blinded to the problems the people they envy face. Imagine yourself as Bill Gates and having billions of dollars to your name. America knows the name, Bill Gates, but not the actual Bill. ...
