A Holiday Memory

I was born in El Salvador and grew up in a house full of people. My grandmother was a dedicated Christian so we would go to church every Monday, Wednesday and three times on Sunday. On Christmas Eve we would spend all night at church and we would reenact the Nativity, recite poems and sing Christmas songs. One particular Christmas, after living in the US for a while, I went back and got involved in the preparation for the big night. This Christmas is memorable because I ruined it for some people.
There lived in town a family who thought they were better than everyone else. A lot of people did not like them, and I, least of all; but this Christmas they were in charge of getting the play together. I had no problem with that since they seemed to be sincere and they dedicated a lot of time to making it perfect. But after a while I noticed that every time they rehearsed they would move all the furniture around and leave it in disarray. They did not bother with cleaning or even decorat...
