“Is Frankenstein A Moral Man?”


In the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, Victor Frankenstein has a constant battle with morality. At times Victor is not a moral man, but his actions sometimes prove he is. Victor, being a scientist; gets so caught up in an experiment trying to create a new species, he fails to have much communication with his family. His thirst for knowledge seems to be more important than his health or his family. Also, only when hearing about the tragedies his creature is causing back home, does he rush back immediately. Upon returning, his thoughts about his reputation deny him of any morals. Eventually, Victor does realize what harm his obsession with science has created.
