Directions to students
1. Materials
· Task booklet of 4 pages including Assessment Criteria on page 4.
· Lined paper.
· You may use an English dictionary, but not a Thesaurus.

2. The Task
· Use your 15 minute reading time to re-reading and thinking about the written material.
· You are required to complete two tasks:
(i) PART A: Comprehension and Evaluation – answer all questions.
(ii) PART B: Writing Task – complete one piece of writing on one topic.
· Follow the instructions on page 3 carefully (you will lose marks for careless errors by ignoring instructions).
· It is recommended that you spend 30 minutes on Part A and 45 minutes on Part B.
