A comparison of a tabloid and broadsheet Sunday magazine

I have chosen to compare The Sunday Times’ Culture with The news of the world’s Sunday magazine. Culture is taken from a broadsheet newspaper and the Sunday magazine from a tabloid. News International who owns the largest percentages of newspaper circulation in Britain owns both papers.

The most obvious different in the magazines is their size Culture is larger than the tabloid’s magazine. The front covers of the magazines are also very different, Culture has use very dark and soft colours such as dark blues and light yellows. Where as the Sunday magazine uses bright bold greens, blues and red on a white background that makes it stand out. The use of images on the front cover is important and on the broadsheet there is only one main picture, which is the main focus of the page, and nothing is covering the picture.
