A Child Called It


I am not a big reader of books, so I thought I had better purchase the book rather than trying to check it out from the library and have it returned on time. I purchased the book in the early afternoon Sunday, January 12, 2003, by 6:02 p.m., I had finished the book. I had a few interruptions but for the most part I could not put the book down. I kept telling myself just one more chapter. I had 6 chapters to read, for homework; from other classes and the next thing I knew I had finished the book.
All my life I wanted to be a social worker. My husband has told me repeatedly that I could not. He says I would have a house filled with children and warrants out for my arrest, and he is right. I have a real sensitive side when it comes to children. If I truly thought a child was in danger I would remove them from the situation, even if that meant keeping them at my house, than so be it. I would rather go to jail than see a child abused in any form.
