¡°Who¡¯s Irish¡± is told in the point of view of a 68-year-old Chinese immigrant. Her story is mainly about her relationship with her Son in law¡¯s family who are Irish. While reading this story I could tell that there were going to be many grammatical errors. Just after the second sentence there is a grammatical error,¡± I am work hard all my life¡±. I thought it was a typo but as I read further into the story I understood that grammatical errors were being used to define the narrator¡¯s character and personality. This was a very smart and clever move on the author¡¯s part, as I read the story I could literally hear the voice of the narrator (since I have heard many Asian immigrants talk this way).
