'The Flea' by John Donne

There has been a lot of poetry written about love by pre-twentieth poets. One particular poet who wrote about love in the pre-twentieth was John Donne. He wrote a poem called 'The Flea' in 1572-1631.
In 'The Flea' the person that is speaking, is lying on a bed with his mistress and trying to persuade her to lose her virginity with him. They are in a very secretive and dark room.

'And cloistered and in these living walls of jet.'
