“Nixon”

For my History project I choose our 37th president, Richard M. Nixon. Richard Mulhouse Nixon was born in Yorba Linda, a farming village in Orange County, CA on Jan.9,1913. Nixon was the second of five sons. Hi9s fathers name was Francis Anthony Nixon and his mother=s name was Hannah Mihous Nixon. Nixon=s father came from a Scotch-Irish farming family. Nixon=s father was born in Ohio after six years of school he started to work. Francis Nixon was a street car motorman and because it was so cold in Ohio he moved to Whittier, CA a much warmer climate. Whittier was a Quaker settlement that was founded in 1901. That=s where he meet his soon to be wife Hannah Mihous. Hannah was one of nine children she moved to California in 1897. Francis and Hannah meet at a Quaker meting house party in Feb.1908.
