"Man of La Mancha"

Man of La Mancha, written by Dale Wasserman, is a magical performance. The show is at the beautiful Martin Beck Theatre, where the seating is a little tight, so get an aisle seat if you can. The musical takes you on a journey that can be a bit confusing at certain points, due to the jumping around from Don to Miguel. Unexpectedly, this is a comedy that has the audience hysterically laughing at various points throughout the performance.
The story takes place in a prison in Seville, Spain (1594). However, the imagination of Don Miguel de Cervantes takes you on a mystifying journey. Miguel is a playwright and a poet who has been thrown into a prison for an offense he commits against the church. While awaiting his real trial, the prisoners run a mock trial, threatening to take his new manuscript: Don Quixote. So, they play out the story of Don Quixote where Miguel takes the role of Don Quixote and his manservant becomes Sancho, while the ...
