“Lady Macbeth is the real villain in the play”


In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, I agree with the statement “Lady Macbeth is the real villain in the play”. From the moment she hears of something that may benefit her she sees a light of power that she can grab onto and enjoy the easy happy ride at anyone’s expense. Greed overcomes her and she becomes mad with power and greed hence her becoming the real villain. Macbeth may be considered the real villain but I don’t believe this statement to be true because Lady Macbeth is the one who persuades Macbeth to become a greedy evil man. Macbeth is definitely a villain as he kills an innocent man but he is certainly not the real villain in the play.
