"In this electronic age, reading has inevitably taken a back seat to watching television and gleaning information from the World Wide Web. People learn far more readily from the electronic media than they do from print."

Over the last few decade television and over the last few years World Wide Web (WWW) has become an integral part of our daily life. For those who have access to these electronic media, it's hard to even imagine the life before these. Be it entertainment or information, television and WWW have become indispensable tools. Our life style and the availability and ease of use of these electronic media have definitely given a backseat to reading books. And because of the interactive nature of these media people definitely learn faster from these media than from books. But do they acquire the same in-depth knowledge from these media as they would acquire from books, I don't think so.

Over the last few decades television has made a tremendous progress. The variety of the programs covers all age groups and almost all, it not all, interests.
