The cards are on the table. The odds are stacked against you. What would you do? This seems to be the question that the Ft. Walton Beach High School football team thrived on. Having just come off of a 2-8 season, we were not the heavy favorites to go anywhere. But my teammates and I didn’t let this factor determine how our season was going to end. I knew we had the ingredients of success that would enable us to beat the odds
The number one ingredient that made us successful on the battle field was the ability to learn to believe in ourselves and each other. Going into the season we did not have many supporters, one of these doubters was myself. Having felt the sting of the previous losing 2-8 season, I did not expect much out of the upcoming one, but I thought, "Heck, I’ve put four years into this I might as well see it through."
