Although my husband has only been in the military for just over a year, I have matured as a citizen of the United States. From being a military dependent, it has helped me develop important qualities of a good citizen. The qualities that I believe that best define a good citizen are responsibility, independence, and pride.
The first characteristic that has bettered me as a good citizen is responsibility. In life, everyone has some sort of responsibility. Such as, in high school I was responsible to turn in my homework on time or to get to work on time. As I entered the military lifestyle, a drastic change has occurred.
