1984 Governmental control over the media and loss of privacy

The “1984” government was so controlling, that everyone was just their minion. Now we have a controlling government, but it is not even close to becoming as bad as “1984”, yet. In “1984”, by George Orwell, the government controlled everyone, and they watched everything everyone did. In “1984” they had telescreens which acted as a security camera for the government to watch everything you do and it was also like a TV, but you could only watch what the government wanted you to see. The telescreens were everywhere. The government today and the government of “1984” have many similarities. It seems as though the government now is slowly morphing into something that will soon become something like “1984”.

The loss of privacy in “1984” was extreme; they had many things to invade peoples privacy. One of them was the thought police. The thought police would carefully monitor all unorthodox or potentially rebellious thoughts. Although we do not have the technology ...
