A Review of
“The 1940’s Radio Hour”


The Grand Island Little Theatre recently completed a production, of Walton Jones,’ 1940’s Radio Hour. The acting company provided a warm, light-hearted evening for its viewers. The 1940’s Radio Hour group was comprised of singers and technicians that performed on the WOV’s Manhatten Varitey Cavalacade. Memorable big band songs, and humorous radio commercials, took the crowd down memory lane. Although, there were minor blemishes in the production, the Little Theatre created an excellent live radio program.
Directors Norbert Wenzel, and Cheryl Schuett noted, that directing the program was like putting a giant picture puzzle together. The picture wasn’t complete until the last piece was put into place. Some of the toughest pieces to find were the musicians. Due...
